Honoring Your Loved Ones

In Memory or End-of-Life
The PA Capitol Region Nurse Honor Guard provides a final tribute for any licensed nurse, active or retired.
Tributes can be conducted as part of a funeral, memorial service, or at the graveside and are always free of charge. Living tributes are available for nurses approaching end-of-life.
The PA Capitol Region Honor Guard serves Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lebanon, and Perry Counties.

The Nightingale Tribute
Honor Guard volunteers dress in a traditional white uniform, completed with cap and cape.
The tribute is a brief ceremony that includes lighting of the Nightingale lamp, reciting the Nightingale Tribute, and presenting a white rose, symbolizing the nurse's dedication to the profession.
After the tribute is recited, a triangle is rung three times, signifying the nurse's final roll call.
Following roll call, the nurse is officially released from their earthly nursing duties.
